Roy Nathanson photoRoy Nathanson is a saxophonist, poet, composer and teacher. He is the recipient of two NYFA Composition Fellowships, several grants from Meet the Composer, a Chamber Music America New Jazz Works grant, as well as a Bessie Award and the Joseph Jefferson Theatre Award.  In 2018 the archives of his work were purchased by the Fales Library of New York University where he currently teaches at Gallatin College. Nathanson lives in Brooklyn with his wife Charna Meyers with whom he shares a son (Gabriel Nathanson) and dog (Gracie).
