Alfred Corn has published eleven books of poetry, the most recent a selected poems volume titled The Returns (2022). His novels are Part of His Story and Miranda’s Book. Three collections of his essays have appeared: The Metamorphoses of Metaphor, Atlas: Selected Essays: 1989–2007, and Arks & Covenants. He has received the Guggenheim, the NEA, an Award in Literature from the Academy of Arts and Letters, and one from the Academy of American Poets. He received the Premio Andersen, offered in 2014 by the Comune di Sestri Levante, Italy, for a wonder tale titled “The Lost Wings.” His teaching experience includes courses in creative writing at Yale, Columbia, the University of Cincinnati, and UCLA. In 2013 he was made a Life Fellow of Clare Hall, Cambridge. In the spring of 2016 Chamán Ediciones in Spain published Rocinante, a selection of his work translated into Spanish, the same translation appearing the following year in Mexico under the title Antonio en el desierto. In 2017 Corn was inducted into the Georgia Writers’ Hall of Fame. In 2021 Norton published his translation of Rilke’s Duino Elegies. A selection of his poems translated into Italian appeared in 2024 with I Quaderni del Bardo under the title Tutto ciò che è. Hosts is his first collection of short stories.
